Latest Updates from Our Project:

Where Is Murasaki?!
12 months ago – Tue, Dec 12, 2023 at 04:45:36 AM

When I wrote that line for the original campaign copy I wasn't intending it to be literal!

Shinobi the best there ever was.

Here's a page from the book with zero context. Page 19, to be specific. The entire book will be in color--including this page--but shading in grayscale is part of the hamster process. Although, as I've been shading pages, I'm thinking I should release a "Kurosawa" edition of the book; essentially old, iconic, black and white samurai films. Anyway...

As you can see, things are moving forward steadily. Not nearly as fast as I would like, but I am a one man army and there have been several significant snags along the way. I wanted this issue completed and in your hands this week, but that's starting to look a little like wishful thinking. I believe the digital edition will be released this month, still, with physical being mailed out in January.

Thank you all for your patience!

Fishing the Crest

<Wtf? No one even remembers "Fishing the West", stop trying to force jokes.>

In 'Murasaki' news: printer is lined up. We should be go for papa Palpatine real soon. Which means addresses will be locked ... probably starting next week! Message me if you haven't received a survey from Backerkit yet. Also, search your email for "Backerkit" just in case!

I have no idea what in TARnation is going on here, but it looks like someone's about to get feathered up. You might even say that their goose... is cooked.

<What did I tell you about forcing jokes? Holy shit, man.>

My friend Fish Lee is a comic making machine. Seriously, I don't even think he's human. That's a snap from KAAW!, part of his new triple comic campaign here on Kickstarter! He has a lot of cool tiers, including commissions and a variety of covers for the available books.

There's also an anthology with copious underboob. Just don't try to COPious a feel, she'll chop your arm off!

<Omg... I hate you so much.>

That's Alice, she and her steam powered robot companion are one of many short stories that can be found in FISHTALES! Honestly, I'm thinking I might need to draw a crossover print of Alice and Murasaki protagonist, Alex... maybe next campaign, hey?! I know KAAW! would be into it. That bird is all about great tits.

<It's not funny if you have to explain the joke...>

Maybe so, but it's still funny to me! And I didn't explain it!

SURVEYS

If you have not received your survey for Murasaki #1 yet, please contact me! Payments are being charged and addresses will be locked in a couple more weeks in preparation for fulfillment!

And now for something completely different...

Audie Oddly needs our help!

Cookies 'N Scream #2 Campaign - One Day Left!

My friend Raven Monroe has a super cute comic book called 'Cookies 'N Scream' (that I'm lettering #2 of!), starring one Audie Oddly and her best pal, Gus-Gus. Together, they sell Sugar Scout cookies and help people in need ... but something always seems to mess it all up!

Setting out on a quest from the Vampire Sisters to retrieve a pair of pointy dentures that have gone missing, Audie and Gus end up on the extra spooky side of town, home to a family of werewolves and ... a cat?!

Hijinks ensue. Will Audie and Co. find the dentures? Can her Sugar Scout cookies survive the menace of two smol werewolf pups looking for a sugar fix? Are cats really that scary?

Discover the answers to those questions and more in 'Cookies 'N Scream' issue #2!

Some Kind of Monster (Hunter)

The return of terrible joke titles! Huzzah?!

In Murasaki news: orders are being locked on Backerkit. You still have time to fill out your survey before cards are charged and addresses are locked. If you're having any issues with the survey, please let me know! In the meantime...

Save a horse, slay a monster

Oh, oh, maybe Spaghetti (Strap) Western?! Listen, I'm hilarious... and also available for consultations. :P

My friends Cara Nicole and Alfred Trujillo have found themselves in the wild, wild west, surrounded by monsters, and Will Smith isn't returning their calls!

No to the Will Smith bit? He has his own monster to deal with? Fine, fine.

Presenting: Nik'st Polly Gunn

"It's the year 1895 and Pollyanna Gunn is about to be thrust into an adventure that will challenge her with the highest stakes of our world and her personal life. Join us for action, magic, demons, and more, all tied together in an unforgiving wild west setting you've never experienced!"

If there are two things I know for certain make for good entertainment, it's bullets and bad guys... and boobies. Okay, so three things. Looks like we get the full gamut of Triple B™ with this new series!

One of the more unique things they have going on all their campaigns is this neat "build your own bundle" tier. And with a metric ton of prints, covers, and other collectible art and cosplay goodies available, you know you'll be getting exactly what you want!

Check it out if you have a minute!

iCloud Private Relay (& New Art!)
about 1 year ago – Mon, Oct 30, 2023 at 09:41:53 PM

No joke headline this time, my friends!

It's been brought to my attention (thanks, [NAME REDACTED]!) that if you have iCloud Private Relay routing your email you might not have received your Backerkit survey! Furthermore, Backerkit may throw an error if you try to enter your actual email address to complete the survey.

If that's the case, please message me directly and I can provide a unique link to your personal survey for an additional $5. I'm kidding, it's free, obviously. Listen, I can't make a completely serious post, I have a reputation to uphold here!

To make up for that awful joke, here's some art of a character named Shina Usomon! She and her knife-adorned cinnamon bun hair make up one third of the dastardly Roulade Brigade, a trio of local yakuza who've been putting the squeeze on businesses up and down Soba Street.
